nirvanna the band the show the movie the blogpost

saw the film! despite having little to no knowledge of these funny men beyond the "Update Day" skit (which I am extremely familiar with), I had a great time. there were only three showings total in Adelaide so my afternoon session was packed with a reeeealllyy specific demographic of turbo nerd who I'm sure all ran to post letterboxd reviews afterwards.

the film itself was excellent! I have no idea how they put this thing together, but it's clear that working together for almost 20 years means they were able to achieve some wild shit. it's a film with a strong script backed up with some extreme commitment from everyone involved. there were a bunch of moments where the theatre completely erupted - that's an energy I haven't experienced often, but it's absolutely an energy that the film deserves.

finally: I think the (hopefully!-)inevitable "making of" doc will be just as entertaining as the film, I can't wait to see behind the curtain to find out how they pulled it off
